Who is a Scrum Master?
The Scrum guide definition:  "The Scrum Master is accountable for establishing Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide. They do this by helping everyone understand Scrum theory and practice, both within the Scrum Team and the organization. The Scrum Master is accountable for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness. They do this by enabling the Scrum Team to improve its practices, within the Scrum framework."
About this event
This is a two day (Weekend) workshop that teachings you what agile and the role of a scrum master is within an organization. Students are challenged to explore the Agile and Scrum principles so they can better understand what to do when applying Scrum to support their teams and organizations

- Why Agile and how to shift the mindset
- Scrum artefacts and ceremonies
- Learn what Definition of Done is and how it applies to quality
- Product Backlog management
- Learn the skills, traits and behavior shifts required to be a Scrum Master
- Role of a Scrum Master to : Product Owner, Developers, Organization
Learning Outcomes
Students leave this course with an understanding of Scrum, the agile mindset and how to deal with common myths and impediments to Scrum. You will gain the knowledge and understanding about how to choose and apply the appropriate practices and techniques that will be most beneficial for their Scrum Teams
Who should attend? The workshop is for everyone who is currently working, cooperating with Scrum team or planning to work within a scrum team in their organisation. The workshop uses Training from the back of the room techniques.
What is next: Upon completing the training, you can sit for the Scrum Master exams. Cost included in the registration.
About Course Trainer: Kemmy Raji
Kemmy Raji has for the past for over 15 years working within agile organizations. She has experience working in various sectors including but not limited to financial institutions and utility companies. Her vast knowledge has been put into coaching teams who work on large-scale product delivery projects.
Kemmy draws on her rich background to help organizations find their best path in creating solutions for challenging business problems by finding the agile practices that work for them, whether that is Scrum, Kanban, or Lean.
Kemmy is a coach through the Co-Active Training Institute, ORSC and the International Coaching Federation. She is the first female Guide Level for the Scrum Alliance in Canada. She holds Certified Team Coach (CTC) and Certied Enterprise Coach (CEC) certifications.
She is also visible within the agile community. Volunteering her time and knowledge to the growth of agile. For instance, she is a co-organiser of the first ever Regional Scrum Gathering, Canada and the founder of Discovering Agile Community. She is also on the Board of Agile Alliance.
Passionate about reducing poverty in the world, She founded the Alleviating Poverty Through Education initiative (APTEI), Nigeria which sponsors children from disadvantage background through schooling.
